Wrought Iron Gates
Wrought Iron Gates in Mount Pleasant
Wrought iron suits the Lowcountry, from a Charleston-style single gate in the Old Village to a grand double-swing entrance in Carolina Park. Nochucknorris forges and welds custom ornamental gates using pickets, scrolls, and finials, matched to your existing fence and finished to hold up against the salt air. Every gate is drawn to your opening, not pulled off a shelf.
Why Powder Coat Over Paint
Painted iron near the harbor blisters and streaks within a couple of seasons. We sandblast the steel, lay down a zinc-rich rust-inhibiting primer, and finish with an electrostatic powder coat that bonds to the metal and shrugs off coastal moisture. The finish keeps its color for years, and touch-ups are simple when you do get the occasional nick.
Our Process
We start with a design that fits your home and your fence, cut and forge the pickets and scrolls, and join everything with clean MIG and TIG welds. After sandblasting, priming, and powder coating, we hang the gate on heavy weld-on hinges and set the latch or drop rod. The result is ironwork that looks custom because it is, sized to a driveway on Long Point Road or a garden path in I’On.
