Driveway Gate Installation
Driveway Gate Installation in Mount Pleasant
A driveway gate is the first thing a visitor meets, and on the coast it has to look sharp while surviving salt air and sandy ground. Nochucknorris fabricates single-swing, double-swing, and cantilever slide gates in the shop, then sets them on structural posts sized to your opening. Whether the entrance is a short apron in Snee Farm or a long drive out in Dunes West, we build the gate to fit the real conditions.
Why the Footing Matters
Most sagging driveway gates in Mount Pleasant failed at the post, not the leaf. Our sandy Lowcountry soil does not hold a shallow footing, so a heavy double-swing gate needs a wider, deeper concrete footing than a fence post ever gets. We check the grade, the drainage, and the gate weight before we dig, because a gate that drops even half an inch will scrape the driveway within a season.
Our Process
We measure the opening, look at the slope and the way water drains near the apron, and help you choose steel, aluminum, or wrought iron. Then we weld the frame with MIG and TIG welds, prime it with a zinc-rich coat, powder-coat the finish, and set the posts in concrete before hanging the leaves on ball-bearing hinges. Most installs finish clean in a day or two once the gate is fabricated.
